Purpose and Effect of the Proposed By-law
The Township owns two properties on Verona Street. They propose to construct four stacked townhouse buildings (total 48 units) on the east side of the road, and two apartment buildings(total 44 units) on the west side of the road. All the buildings would have two storeys. The buildings would be connected to a proposed municipal water system and wastewater system.
The purpose of the proposed by-law is to change the zones on the properties from Rural (RU) and Urban Residential - First Density (UR1) to Urban Multiple Residential (UMR). The UMR zones would be site-specific to address building type, lot area, building setbacks, and minimum parking requirements. The zones would also have a holding symbol that would only be removed to allow this development once all studies are completed.

Purpose and Effect of the Application:
The severance application seeks to permit a lot addition. The proposed 1 Acre lot addition would increase the area of the benefitting lands (6153 First Lake Road) to 3.6 Acres.
The retained parcel (6187 First Lake Road) would have 62 Acres with frontage on First Lake Road and Depot Creek.
Construction of the Fish Creek Bridge continues to progress toward completion and crews have been working on average six days per week since late October. The last several weeks, however, have been unforgiving with progress due to the freezing rain and heavy snowfalls. View the the forecasted work schedule.
Effective January 10, 2026, the Loughborough Waste site will begin operations as a full Waste Transfer Facility.
