South Frontenac Township Celebrates Reopening of Expanded Storrington Centre

South Frontenac Council, staff, dignitaries and community members gathered at the newly expanded Storrington Centre at 3910 Battersea Road in Sunbury on Thursday to celebrate the Centre’s expansion and reopening.

Due to the storm that will hit our region overnight tonight and tomorrow, please note the following cancellations and changes in service:

• The Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed Thursday, February 23
• The Recreation and Leisure Services Advisory Committee meeting is cancelled and will be rescheduled to a later date

Verona Master Plan Water and Wastewater Servicing Study to Begin

The Verona Housing Master Plan outlines the Township of South Frontenac’s strategic direction for a municipally-led mixed housing development in the village of Verona. The plan will allow for a mix of housing types with a focus on seniors and affordable housing.

The Township is moving forward with the next phase of the project which includes a study to assess various communal water and wastewater servicing options which are critical for the development of the site and approval of the plan.

Reduced Loads on Township Roads now in effect to April 30, 2023

Due to current weather and road conditions, all roads within South Frontenac are subject to restricted loads effective immediately to April 30, 2023. No commercial motor vehicle or trailer, other than a public vehicle, shall have a load exceeding 5,000 kilograms on designated roads as per Section 122 of the Highway Traffic Act. This helps protect roads in the Township.

By-Law Enforcement and Short-term Rentals Survey
