2025 Facility Rental Information

Fee's for recreation facility rentals are approved by Council via By-Law 2024-59.

Check out the 2025 Fee Schedule.

Category 1

Resident groups with high community benefits, such as youth, seniors' groups, and not for profit organizations. Category 1 has the lowest user fees.

Category 2

Resident groups primarily comprised of adults, which may or may not be open to the public. Category 2 has slightly higher fees than Category 1.

Category 3

Non-resident, corporate, and/ or for-profit users. Category 3 is charged the highest fees.

The township provides universal access to facilities - You do not require a membership to book spaces. The only revenue streams to operate these facilities are a reasonable balance of tax base recourse and user fees.

User fees ensure:

  • Equity for all residents. Leaning exclusively on the tax base for operational costs of these facilities places an undue burden on the non-users who will never use the facilities, yet pay the same amount through their taxes. Groups that use and benefit from the facilities ought to help 'carry the weight' in a more fair and measured way that accounts for the benefit they are receiving.
  • There is a signal of service level, access rights, and value: Fees signal to user groups that they are guaranteed a certain amount of services. They solidify the right of the space for the group and that they will not be 'bumped', and they place value on the facility and attach a value on the asset for users, creating a sense of shared responsibility for the respect of the space.
  • Financial sustainability: Costs are rising, and unless revenue is not generated through user fees, cost recovery will drop while service standards rise. This is an unsustainable business model.
