Resignation of Charlene Godfrey from South Frontenac Township Council

At the December 19, 2023 Council meeting, Charlene Godfrey, Councillor, Bedford District, submitted her resignation from Township of South Frontenac Council effective December 19, 2023. 

In accordance with Section 262 of the Municipal Act, 2001, Council will declare the seat vacant at the January 9, 2024 Council meeting. 

As per Section 263 of the Municipal Act, within sixty days after Council has declared the seat vacant, the Act requires Council to fill the vacancy by appointing a person who has consented to accept the office, or pass a by-law requiring a by-election be held to fill the vacancy.
