Hockey Day in South Frontenac: Fire & Rescue vs. OPP

September 12, 2024 – On September 28, 2024, Frontenac OPP, South Frontenac Fire and & Rescue and several partners will host a charity hockey event that will raise funds and food donations for the South Frontenac Food Bank. Doors of Frontenac Community Arena (4299 Arena Boundary Rd.) will open at 3 pm with the headline game between South Frontenac Fire & Rescue and the OPP at 5:30 pm.

In addition to the schedule of hockey games, the family-fun event will feature a silent auction, a fire prevention “test your smoke alarm” contest, an emergency services display, bouncy castles, a canteen and a BBQ provided by the Rapid Relief Team. The first 450 people to order from the BBQ will receive their meal for free.

“We are very excited to co-host this event and to raise awareness and collect food donations for the South Frontenac Food Bank,” says Del Blakney, Director of Emergency Services & Fire Chief. “The need for additional food resources for people in our community has increased over the years. We are eager to help our community and, subsequently, eager to show off our hockey skills and compete against the OPP.” 
The schedule of events for the day is as follows:

-    3:00 pm: Frontenac Fury Exhibition Game
-    4:00 pm: Frontenac Flyers Exhibition Game
-    5:30 pm: South Frontenac Fire Rescue vs. OPP
-    6:30 pm: Emergency Services Skills Competition
-    7:30 pm: Frontenac Paramedic vs. Leeds Fire

Admission to the event is by cash donation or by donating a non-perishable food item for the South Frontenac Foodbank. Bring the family, help our community and enjoy some great hockey!
