    At the December 19, 2023 Council meeting, Charlene Godfrey, Councillor, Bedford District, submitted her resignation from Township of South Frontenac Council effective December 19, 2023.

    South Frontenac Township Passes 2.74% Budget Increase for 2024

    South Frontenac Township Council has passed its 2024 budget. The Total Operating and Capital Budget of $44,553,398 million represents a 2.74% increase to the average household or $47.04 a year*.

    Holiday Hours and Garbage and Recycling Collection Changes

    Our Township offices will be closed Friday Dec 22nd at noon and reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2023 at 8 am.

    For after hours emergencies such as trees down on roads, please call (613) 376-3027 and follow the instructions to speak with our after hours service. Please don’t email us, call a specific extension, or post issues requiring a response on social media —these channels are not monitored after hours.

    Holiday Public Skating at Frontenac Community Arena

    Join us on Friday, December 29th from 12:30 to 3 pm at the Frontenac Community Arena for a special free skate in honour of our 25th anniversary. There will be free hot coffee and hot chocolate to keep your fingers and toes warm.

    That's a Wrap on Another Road Construction Season

    Major road construction projects have wrapped up for another year. The North Shore, Battersea and Alton Road projects were funded in part by the Canada Community-Building Fund. These main arteries were identified in the 2022 Comprehensive Roads Needs Study as having some of the lowest pavement condition ratings in the Township.     Local Volunteers Recognized at Special Luncheon

    South Frontenac Council invited community volunteers to a special recognition luncheon on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Storrington Centre in Sunbury. Over 60 community volunteers were in attendance and enjoyed a hot lunch catered by Rampant Kitchen and served by Council members.

    Improved Cell Service Now Available in 26 Eastern Ontario Communities

    The Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN), the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, and Rogers Communications issued a news release December 6, 2023 that Rogers 5G mobile services are now available in additional areas. In building 18 new sites and making upgrades to an additional seven existing sites, Rogers 5G mobile services are now available for the first time for residents in several communities including Frontenac County.

    New Strategic Plan for South Frontenac Township

    South Frontenac Township has a new Strategic Plan. The Plan was approved at the December 5, 2023 Council meeting and sets the vision and priorities for the Township for the next four or five years.

    South Frontenac Township is holding a sale of surplus vehicles and equipment on GovDeals.ca.

    We have several pick-up trucks and a 3 ton asphalt box listed for auction with a closing date of December 14, 2023 on the site at this link.
