Weed Control

Frontenac County administers the Weed Control Act within South Frontenac Township. The responsibility for this Act is limited to:

  • whether the weeds in question are on the list of noxious weeds; and
  • if the weeds are a threat to agriculture

If the weeds are noxious and are a threat to agriculture, and the complaint is from a person involved in agriculture, the complaint can be dealt with under the Act by the County. For additional information respecting the Weed Control Act, please contact Richard Allen, Manager of Economic Development, County of Frontenac 613-548-9400 Ext 330.

We will apply pesticides to control weeds along guiderails, posts and roadsides in the Township and will advise residents when pesticide use is happening by placing ads in the local newspaper.
