Communal Bins

Upon approval, South Frontenac Township will cover 50% of the cost of communal garbage bins and recycle stations to help reduce litter and keep nuisance wildlife out of residential garbage. The program is aimed at laneways where multiple households bring their garbage or recycling to the Township road or for seasonal areas who may not be present on their collection day. 

Once the application is received, we inspect and identify a suitable landing area in a safe and accessible location for the bins. See the Application Form and Policy to see if your communal lane is eligible for communal garbage bins or recycle stations.

Recycle stations

To keep a large amount of recycle bins neat and tidy on collection day,  we have built *Recyle Cubbys*. This style creates an individualized method whereas each recycle box is placed in a *shelf* for each residence.

• Bins can be placed before collection day and retrieved when empty.
• A convenient slide out option allows collectors to easily see that it is the correct material for that week.
• Each recycle station is built of pressure treated wood with a galvanized steel roof and can be a stand alone 6 unit or joined with another 6 unit to create more compartments.
• Each 6 compartment cubby holds 12 recycle boxes, cost to residents $700
• We also have a 12 compartment cubby that will hold 24 recycle boxes at a cost of $1,400 to residents.
