Remembrance Day Message from Mayor Ron Vandewal

This Saturday, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour, we will stand silently and pay homage to those who fought for our country and sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

With all the struggles and violence in the world right now, we should be thankful we live in a country where hope, peace and freedom burn bright.

But we must never take peace and freedom for granted.

North Shore Road closed due to trees down on hydro lines

**UPDATE 10:52 am** North Shore Road is now open after being temporarily closed this morning between Koen and Leland Roads due to trees down on the hydro lines. 

Hydro One has been dispatched. Please use alternate access to North Shore Road from Leland Road in the north. We'll update this post when the road is back open.

The Council of The Corporation of the Township of South Frontenac will host a public meeting on December 19, 2023 at 7 pm on proposed amendments to By-law 2017-76 which provides for the governing the proceedings of Council, the conduct of members and the calling of meetings.

The amendments are related to proposed changes to allow staff delegated authority to remove holding provisions and to clarify the Notice of Motion process.

November Food Drive Returns in South Frontenac

South Frontenac Township is once again asking community members to reach into their pantries and donate items to the local food bank during the month of November.

A recent report from Food Banks Canada shows food bank usage is 32.1% higher than 2022 and a third of people using food banks are children. Food insecurity has risen to its highest level since the organization started its annual HungerCount report in 1989.
